Glorious Glass - Stained Glass in the Abbey Museum collection

Glorious Glass: Stained Glass in the Abbey Museum Collection is a beautifully illustrated catalogue showcasing the Museum’s extraordinary stained glass collection, spanning 700 years of history.

This is the first major publication dedicated to this rich collection, featuring renowned pieces such as the Winchester Cathedral glass and armorial panels from Warwickshire and London. The book presents all 75 medieval, Renaissance, and Arts and Crafts windows, documented after a decade-long conservation program.

With contributions from international scholars and a foreword by Sarah Brown, Glorious Glass makes the Abbey Museum’s complete stained glass collection accessible to researchers and the public for the first time. Designed by acclaimed Queensland graphic artist Andrae Pilcher and written by Senior Curator Michael Strong, its 296 pages explore the history and artistic significance of each panel.
