Penny-farthing was named from the penny and farthing coins for the wheel sizes. With its popularity it became a symbol of the Victoria era. The trend was short-lived, but it was at the birth of cycling as a sport. The large front wheel made speed and distance easier for the leg rotation used. While the look is odd and maybe unwise to venture, it has a distinguished appearance with a classic suit and hat of the rider in the bygone years.
Hand cast pewter pin, perfect for collectors and penny farthing enthusiasts.
